On Saturday, August 24, Benjamin Constante professed solemn vows before a large gathering of Carmelites from Centro Xiberta, his family and friends, as well as members of the Lay Carmelite Third Order, and members of the Association of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
The Very Rev. William J. Harry, O. Carm., received the vows and was the principle celebrant of the Mass. Concelebrating were Frs. Paul Henson, first counselor of the Provincial Council; Alfredo Guillen, prior of the Carmelites in El Salvador and formatter; Jesus Paz, vocation director in El Salvador and professor at the Universidad de Central America; Benjamin Salas, director of the Association of Our Lady of Mount Carmel; and Cecilio Hernandez, treasurer of the foundations in El Salvador and Director of the Lay Carmelites in El Salvador.
The outstanding music at the Mass was provided by the youth choir of the Parish of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes. The ceremony was televised live via internet for those who could not attend. You can still view the entire ceremony here:
