We come to you as Carmelite Friars from our beloved El Salvador. The Carmelites are new in our country, but we are growing. God is calling us to bring our spirituality of God’s presence and to share the Gospel work for our sisters and brothers in El Salvador. Our beloved country has been through so many trials and challenges.
Inside El Salvador, we are asking people to help us and be partners with us. We have formed the Asociacion Nuestra Senora del Monte Carmela en El Salvador.
We are also asking other El Salvadorian brothers and sisters in other countries like the United States to help. You are aware of the needs of our people – and are part of the Church that wants to respond and help. Mary’s heart leads us to the Heart of Jesus and His call to the works of mercy: feeding the hungry and thirsty; welcoming strangers who are lost, alienated, and homeless; protecting the defenseless; caring for the sick; and visiting those imprisoned in poverty, violence and danger.
We humbly ask for your support in the name of the Carmelite community of El Salvador and Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
