Part of the Carmelite mission is providing learning opportunities that translate into real-life skills. The Carmelites support the young people’s involvement in sports as a way of avoiding involvement in gangs which are prevalent in many areas of Central America. By sponsoring sports teams we are teaching teamwork and cooperation in a very practical, real life situation.
